On behalf of the Steering Committee, we welcome you to the eighth International Conference on Information Communication Technologies in Health. The Conference will build on the success of the previous conferences, which were held in Samos island, Greece under the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) support. 8th ICICTH SAMOS 2010 aims to facilitate the discussion on the effective use of ICT in the process of healthcare and to provide a forum for scientific debate and constructive interaction in a multi cultural social environment. The conference provides a platform for scientists and clinicians to present research work; to exchange knowledge, ideas and experience and to identify and discuss the challenges and solutions to effective management and deployment of technology applications. Ph.D candidates are explicitly invited to present and discuss their research ideas and work in progress. The ICICTH Samos 2010 will be held from July 15th (Thursday) to July 17th (Saturday) at the INEAG conference venue which is located on the Island of Samos. In July, Samos is at its finest. The conference is co-organized by the: Research and Training Institute of the East Aegean (INEAG), Greece National & Kapodistrian University of Athens - Faculty of Nursing, Greece University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics & Technology, Austria Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Bogazici University, Turkey GHIA – Greek Health Informatics Association
Biomedical and Health Informatics, Telemedicine, Education and elearning in healthcare domain, Health administration and Management are some of the topics of the 8th ICICTH 2010. The scientific papers approved by the Scientific Committee of the ICICTH 2010 as suitable for oral presentations in plenary sessions will be published in full in the conference proceedings. Selected papers will also be published in "Applied Clinical Informatics (ACI)” after peer revision by members of Conference's and Journals' Scientific Committees. You are welcome to join us at the conference and enjoy the beauty of Samos. We look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
